How do you look up a pending civil law case?

I have the case number and tried looking at the los angeles superior courthouse website.How do you look up a pending civil law case?
Go down there and ask the Clerk for the Civil Division to review the file. Then you can copy almost anything in the file as long as you ask nicely and pay the copying fee.
